Hospice provides compassionate, specialized care to those with a life-limiting illness, as well as their loved ones.
Our services summarized:
- Offers a team to care for the patient, consisting of physicians, nurses, social workers, spiritual counselors, home care aides and volunteers.
- Provides medically managed pain and symptom control.
- Offers support for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient and family.
- Relieves anxiety by providing information to the patient and family about what to expect as the illness progresses.
- Provides 24 hour a day access to the hospice team.
- Includes back-up inpatient hospitalization at contracted hospitals.
- Provides Respite Care.
- Covers Pike and northern Lincoln counties, including Elsberry city limits.
- Provides care in area nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
- Reduces financial stress on the family.
- Provides special bereavement care to loved ones for up to 13 months after the patient’s death.
How Does A Patient Qualify For Hospice?
- Consent of attending physician.
- Life expectancy of approximately 6 months or less without aggressive treatment.
- A capable caregiver is available.
- Residence in the geographic area served-Pike and northern Lincoln counties.
What Does Hospice Cover?

- Medications related to the hospice diagnosis
- Medical equipment
- Personal care
- Medical supplies
- Reimbursed covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most insurances.
